Serving Burlington, Lowell, and Lexington, MA

Available in three premium trims, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS is a luxurious SUV that’s loaded with high-end installations. The BMW X6 is a compact crossover SUV that also offers plenty of lavish amenities. Available with three turbocharged engines, the GLS SUV is much more powerful than the BMW X6. This Mercedes-Benz also offers better active safety features such as the Active Brake Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist.

The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 runs on the 3.0 L bi-turbo V6 engine that produces 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Capable of whipping out 449 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, the 4.7 L bi-turbo V8 engine is standard in the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS 550 edition. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS 63 is powered by the handcrafted 5.5 L AMG® bi-turbo V8 engine that yields 577 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque. All of these powerful engines are managed by the ECO Start/Stop system that saves fuel. The BMW X6 sDrive35i and xDrive35i models are equipped with the 3.0 L TwinPower I6 engine that delivers only 300 hp. An upgrade to the 4.4 L TwinPower V8 engine comes with access to 445 hp. Equipped with the 4MATIC® All-Wheel Drive and DYNAMIC SELECT, the Mercedes-Benz GLS is easier to handle than the BMW X6. Additionally, the AIRMATIC®® suspension system and Adaptive Damping System stabilize this Mercedes-Benz on any surface. With the optional ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM, you’ll maintain even better control of this premium SUV. Of course, the signature 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission system lets you set the ideal gear combination for any situation.

The Mercedes-Benz GLS comes with an 8-inch color monitor that’s connected to the signature COMAND®® platform. You can use a touch pad, rotary knob and central controller to manage this cutting-edge infotainment system. A five-year subscription to thembrace® Connect suite comes with access to many helpful applications such as the E-NAVIGATOR, Vehicle Finder and an internet browser. Whether it’s HD Radio or SiriusXM Satellite Radio, you may enjoy your favorite songs on the harman/kardon® sound system that includes 13 speakers. The optional Bang & Olufsen audio system comes with 14 speakers that blast more than 900 watts of acoustic power. The BMW X6 is also available with premium entertainment amenities such as a sound system with a 600-watt amplifier.

The Active Brake Assist is designed to prevent the Mercedes-Benz GLS from crashing into another car ahead on the road. This radar-based technology delivers the optimum level of braking if you fail to react to warnings. Similarly, the DISTRONIC® system maintains a safe distance to another vehicle in front. With some help from the Steering Pilot, you’re unlikely to swerve out of control on curved or narrow roads. You’ll also have a good chance of avoiding an accident at an intersection with some input from the Cross-Traffic Function. Changing lanes in the Mercedes-Benz GLS is easy when you have the Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist. Once you arrive at your destination, the Parking Assist will guide you into an open parking space. Linked to multiple ultrasonic sensors that scan the surroundings, this technology adjusts the steering system and brakes. Additionally, the Surround View system captures an overhead perspective of the vehicle in real time.
