2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS: What’s New at Mercedes-Benz of Burlington?
There’s a Mercedes-Benz SUV for every taste. Case in point: the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS, which combines every ounce of the luxury of the legendary Mercedes-Benz Sonderklasse sedan with the practicality of a three-row SUV. Completely redesigned last year, it arrives at Mercedes-Benz of Burlington with some compelling new additions — and editions — for 2021.
2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS Details
- Choice of engines with mild hybrid systems
- 4MATIC® AWD standard
- Three rows of seating
- New AMG® and Maybach variants
The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS comes with standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive and the E-Active Body Control system (shared with the Mercedes-Benz GLE). The engines — one a capable inline-six, the other a powerful V8 — are paired to a 48-volt mild hybrid system that improves low-end torque. The interior is every bit as luxe as you’d expect, and now offers optional captain’s chairs in the second row if you’d prefer an alternative to the usual bench seat.
Now we raise the ante. First, there’s the Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63, with its 603 horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 engine. As you’d expect, the wheels, tires, suspension, and brakes are upgraded to match the added output.
Next, there’s the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, the first SUV ever to bear the storied Maybach name. Here, the priority is on comfort rather than speed. The 550 horsepower engine provides a smooth and assured drive, and inside, the third row is discarded in favor of a second row that’s reminiscent of a business-class aircraft cabin.
More information on ordering and customization should be discussed at your Boston area Mercedes-Benz dealership.
